Set in the shadow of a decade-long period of political and social chaos in China, 13 -year-old Yangyang and his older brother Chunzi struggled to live under the poverty line in a small village. Chunzi dreamed to join the army as it’s the only hope for underprivileged children like him to leave the mountains and change their fate.
