Adhu Lhagyal, however, made the first Adhu incense. He studied medicine in his early years and served his community as a doctor. He was very much respected by the villagers. As he used to make incense, people in his community started to use it. Most importantly Adhu incense is based on the fundamental ingredients of the Tibetan traditional incense. The main ingredients are sandal wood, Tibetan juniper, fern, saffron, bamboo manna, cardamom, precious stones blessed by Tibetan masters. This incense making tradition has continued for three generations. All in all, Adhu incense is hundred percent chemical free. It is good to burn before the holy statues in the temples and to prevent famine, for it is made of the most natural herbs from the highlands of Tibet with its clean air and water!
