THROW IN THE TOWEL

The short film was awarded for Official Selection in Screen Culture Film Festival 2020 and nominated for RTS Student Awards 2020. Throwing in the towel follows the story of Joe Jones, a young boxer from 1950 in East London, and single mother Tracy. This film tackles the themes of masculinity and mental health as Joe tries to come to terms with his father's suicide while transitioning into manhood. It's a story of masculinity and going from boyhood to manhood, but it's also a very moving glimpse of mother and son's reconnecting.
