Some of you will know that we don’t just have one colorist named Nicola, but two.

Nicola Gasparri joined us last November, so with almost a year of experience in China under his belt we thought we it was a perfect time to get to know him more.

有一些朋友知道我们不仅有一位名叫Nicola的调色师，而是两位。Nicola Gasparri于去年11月份加入，
将近在中国一年的时间，我们也感觉是时候来让大家了解他更多。

Nicola Gasparri comes from Florence, Italy. With over 8 years of experience as a colorist, he brings a wealth of knowledge along with European flare.

Nicola Gasparri 来自于意大利的佛罗伦萨。拥有超8年的的调色经验，与他随之而来的还有他的欧洲色彩。

Since working his way up to becoming a colorist, he has worked in several foreign markets, and also Taiwan. This has allowed him opportunities soak up unique cultures and styles and gain a great understanding of foreign markets and their unique demands.

在稳步上升成为成熟调色师的道路上，他在许多异国市场停留，还有台湾。这也使他吸收了当地的文化和不同风格，开拓了他的作品的丰富多元行性，也让他更加了解独特的亚洲市场需求。

We sat down with Nicola to find out what he's like away from the grading suite.

我们也邀请Nicola坐下来聊聊他在调色房以外是什么样的。

Q：How do you keep your creative juices flowing at home and the office?

你如何在家以及工作中保持创意灵感？

I’m massively into photography. I take one of my 5 cameras out every weekend and love to shoot with film. I mainly concentrate on shooting the architecture in Shanghai after scouting different locations to make sure I come back at the right light and I don’t waste my 4*5 film, as it’s expensive.
我对摄影有极大的兴趣。每周末我都会带上我5台相机中的一台，出去拍摄。主要集中在上海的建筑物，通常都会去一个地点好几次来确保在对的光下拍摄，因为我也不想浪费我的4*5胶卷，还挺贵的。

Q：

Name one thing about you that people may not know?告诉我们一个关于你不为人所知的信息？

I am heavily into motor sport. In Italy I used to race motor bikes and take cars around the track. I love extreme sports, especially snowboarding and surfing. One time I was surfing out at sea in New Zealand and someone shouted “shark!” As I turned I saw the fin and paddled as fast as I could back to shore. That dreadful moment of not knowing if the shark was coming towards me or if it was even close. I had tunnel vision as my heart was pounding to reach the shore.我对极限摩托运动很着迷。很喜欢极限运动，特别是滑雪和冲浪。有一次我在新西兰冲浪的时候，有人大喊一声“鲨鱼！”，我转头看到露出水面的鱼鳍，接着开始疯狂的滑水向岸边。那不知道鲨鱼离我多远，是否朝我游来的未知恐惧感，让我当下产生了走马灯时刻。

Q：What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?收到过最好的建议？

The best advice I have been given was to be more positive. Being positive can influence so much and I’m a big believer that good things can happen if you are positive.

收到过最好的建议应该是保持积极的态度。积极的态度可以影响很多，我是一个完全的积极主义忠实拥护者。

Q：

What is the difference working here in Shanghai compared to previous markets?在上海工作对你来说与之前工作的地方不同在哪里？

Here the amount of time I get on a project is usually higher than I'm used to, which results in the final product being of a higher standard. Working for a company like MPC has given me the opportunity to experience the behind the scenes of CG / animated commercials and work with many incredible artists. And also the fact we can do remote grading in real time allows me to collaborate with international clients very easily.

在这里每个项目给予我工作的时间相对更长，这也可以让每个项目有更好的最终质量。在MPC这样的公司工作也让我有机会了解更多三维/动画作品背后的故事，也有机会与更多卓越的能人工作。以及MPC的实时远程调色系统也能让我有更多的机会也更容易与其他国家的客户进行合作。
